Mrs. Sylvia Weathington Obituary
Mrs. Sylvia R. Weathington was born June 26, 1936 to Gladys Streeter and Mike Market. She departed this life on May 17, 2017.
Sylvia confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She was joined in holy matri-mony to Arthur Weathington Jr, who preceded her in death. Af-ter marriage she became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Midway, AL, where she remained until the Lord called her home. Of this union two children were born.
Sylvia worked at the Eufaula School System for over twenty years. She was an active church member serving as Usher, Choir Member, and Mother of the Church until she departed this life.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Children, Arthur (Dorothy) Weathington and Michael (Ida) Weathington, all of Eufaula, AL; One sister, Christine Smith of Eufaula, AL; Brothers, Clarence (Rose) Market of Newark, NJ, Mike Market, Jr, Albert Market, all of Rochester, NY; Four grandsons, Delarious, Brandon, and Mareshia Weathington; Two granddaughters, Courtney and Mona-zia Weathington; Special niece, Deborah Bland and great nephew, Shawn Bland of Atlanta, GA; a host of other nieces, nephew, rela-tives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Market and a special nephew, Willie J. Smith Jr.
