Mr. William Quincy Floyd, Jr. was born October 25, 1957 in Clayton,
Alabama.
William accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.
William graduated from Clayton High School, the Class of May 1977. After
graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine. He received an
honorable discharge after three years of service. He, also, attended Wayne
County Community College. He was employed with the City of Detroit
(DPW), retiring after twenty-seven years. William enjoyed fishing and
gardening as his hobbies.
He was joined into holy matrimony on December 22, 1981 to Linda Floyd,
forty-three years. To this union two sons were born, William Quincy Floyd,
III and Nathaniel Lemuel Floyd.
On April 19, 2025, at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, William
entered into eternal rest.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. Willie Q. Floyd and
Mamie Lee Warmack; his siblings, General James, Jessie, Joe Louis,
Jimmie , Miriam, and Magnora Floyd.
He leaves to cherish wonderful and special memories to the love of his life,
Linda Floyd; children, William Quincy Floyd, III (Charise) of Farmington
Hills, MI, Nathaniel Lemuel Floyd of Detroit, MI; grandson, Nathaniel
Lemuel Floyd, Jr; mother-in-law, Annie Whigham; a very special aunt-in-
law, Mary J Whigham-Russell; sisters, Rebecca Caraway, Willie Frank
Diggs, Victoria (Weathia) McClain, all of Clayton, AL, Lyndon Paige
(Nealie) of Montgomery, AL, Loanie Bell Tyson of Savannah, GA, Elnora
Sewell of Clayton, AL, and Regina (Roderick) Pitts, Detroit, MI; sister-in-
law, Johnnie Will Floyd of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends.
